ASC awards are now open
Commenting for the Original Series is now open. Commenting for this
series will continue from 2 pm March 2 until 2 pm March 16. All times
are EST.
The main voting site can be found here
The registration site can be found here
Please note that a one-time registration is required prior to
commenting; you will receive a warning if you do not register first.
No comments will qualify without a valid email address and
registration.
Instructions on using the web ballots for commenting:
On the main commenting page, select a specific category. The category
page provides the following for each story in the list: a link to read
the story, a link to comment on it, rating, codes and a brief summary.
If you are using the same computer you registered on previously, your
name and email address should already be filled in when you click on
the comment link.
If you do not wish your comment to be counted by the Awards staff (ex:
in case of accidental duplication, etc), please select the option that
reads "Don't count this vote" in the drop down box at the end of the
ballot. You will receive a copy of every comment you write if you
provided a valid email address.
After you click "Let us hear your comments", the confirmation screen
contains links to return to the category list or main awards page.
There is also a link to use if you wish to go back and correct/replace
your comment. For a replacement/correction, please add the word
CORRECT to your Name field and select the appropriate action from the
drop-down box at the end of the menu (ie "Don't count last", "Replace
last," etc).
The ballots will also be posted to the ASC newsgroup as well as the
yahoo awards group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ASC_Award s/. If you
wish, you can submit your comments to either of those groups or
directly to the Awards Coordinator at rockytster @ gmail.com. If you
choose one of these alternative methods instead of using the web site,
you must include your UniqueID (which you received when you
registered) with your comment.
Comment digests will be posted once a day both to the newsgroup and to
the yahoo awards group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ASC_Awar ds/).
Reminders:
First, authors may not comment on their own work, save for comments if
the author thinks that hir story may need additional information.
Please mark such comments as "do not count."
Second, attempts to pad comments by the use of cut and paste of the
same feedback or multiple submissions of the same comment will not be
tolerated, and dealt with as stated in the FAQ.
The ASC Awards were founded in order to encourage feedback. Who comes
in first, second, or third does not matter. Every story that gets a
comment 'wins' for that author. Like any other contest, the ASC Awards
depend on your participation. If you have read and enjoyed a fic on
the newsgroup this year, please take the time to comment. If you have
posted a story yourself, you know how good it makes you feel when
someone leaves you feedback. Please take a look at the other stories
and consider doing the same.
Any questions/comments/problems should be directed to rockytster @
gmail.com
Thanks and let the commenting begin!
